On the morning of 20th December 2024, RL Jalappa College of Physiotherapy celebrated a memorable milestone with the grand inauguration of its Alumni Association. Held at the Silver Jubilee Hall, the event was a vibrant gathering of past and present, fostering connections and creating new opportunities for the
institution and its alumni. The event commenced at 11:00 AM with an invocation and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a bright chapter for the college. The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed patrons, including Sri J. Rajendra, Vice President, SDUET, Kolar; Dr. Vengamma, Vice Chancellor, SDUAHER; Dr. Muninarayana, Registrar, SDUAHER; Dr. Dayanand, Professor & HOD, AHS RLJH&R; and the Chief Guest, Dr. Anup Bhrambhatt, CEO of Physiotattva.
The formal inauguration of the Alumni Association took place at 11:20 AM, followed by an address by Dr. Senthil Kumar, Principal of RLJCOPT. In his speech, Dr. Senthil Kumar emphasized the importance of an alumni association in fostering lifelong connections, promoting collaboration, and contributing to the development of the institution.
As a gesture of gratitude toward the college, the students have shown remarkable support by sponsoring gifts upon graduation to enhance the college’s infrastructure and productivity. To honor this initiative, patronage certificates were presented during the event.
- The MPT batch of 2022-23 sponsored a PRINTER, contributing to academic and administrative efficiency.
- The BPT batch of 2016-17 gifted a TRAMPOLINE, supporting therapeutic exercises in physiotherapy training.
- The BPT batch of 2017-18 provided a CP STANDING FRAME, aiding in the training and rehabilitation of individuals with cerebral palsy.
- The BPT batch of 2018-19 donated a WATER DISPENSER, ensuring better facilities for students and staff.
- The BPT batch of 2019-20 sponsored an AMPLIFIER, enhancing the college's ability to host events and presentations effectively.
This thoughtful contribution by the alumni reflects their deep gratitude and commitment to the growth and betterment of their alma mater.
Subsequent addresses by distinguished speakers highlighted various facets of the alumni association. Sri J. Rajendra spoke about the importance of cherishing bonds with teachers and mentors. Dr. Vengamma elaborated on how alumni associations shape the future of institutions, while Dr. Muninarayana
highlighted the collective strength of alumni in driving institutional progress. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anup Bhrambhatt, delivered a keynote speech on entrepreneurship, inspiring alumni to explore innovative opportunities in the physiotherapy field. His words encouraged the alumni to think beyond clinical practice and to embrace entrepreneurial ventures that align with modern healthcare needs. Following his speech, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Physiotattva and RL Jalappa College of Physiotherapy took place, symbolizing a significant collaboration aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and advanced learning opportunities in physiotherapy.
The event also featured an emotional alumni testimony by Mr. Prince, who reflected on his experiences at the college and its impact on his career.
The celebration continued with cultural performances, including melodious singing, classical dance, a Janapada song, and a heartwarming skit portraying a mother’s unconditional love. These performances added a vibrant and artistic touch to the event, making it a day of joy and togetherness.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Secretary of the RLJCOPT Alumni Association, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, alumni, faculty, and students for their participation and support.
The inauguration of the Alumni Association marked a new chapter in the history of RL Jalappa College of Physiotherapy, fostering a spirit of unity, collaboration, and progress. This milestone event served as a celebration of past achievements while paving the way for a promising future.
