Guest lecture is based on broad category of medical conditions and situations involving the vertebral column, including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal), herniated disks, spinal deformities like scoliosis, spondylolisthesis (vertebral slippage), fractures, spinal infections, and tumors. Patients may require treatment, including physical therapy, medication, or surgical procedures like spinal fusion, when symptoms become persistent, cause neurological deficits (such as numbness, weakness, or loss of bladder control), or significantly impact quality of life. Biological augmentation of rotator cuff repairs (RCRs) has shown promising structural and functional outcomes, particularly for large or massive tears and in high-risk patients. These techniques enhance the healing environment by introducing materials like scaffolds, growth factors, or stem cells, improving biological healing at the tendon-bone interface.
