EVENT 1- Quiz competition on 10-04-2023

On 5 th of April elimination round of quiz was conducted for the MBBS students in collaboration with Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) Karnataka State Chapter. A total of 93 students took part in the elimination round conducted on 5/04/2023 at 2:00PM at Community Medicine AV Hall. From these participants 4 teams consisting of 3 people were selected for final round. The final round of quiz was conducted on 10/04/2023 at 2:30 PM by the Nodal officer
Dr.Harshitha, Assistant Professor at Community Medicine AV Hall. The quiz had four rounds in it, the first round was one word answers, second round was visual round, third round was Multiple choice questions and final round was rapid fire. The students from 8 th term Mr. Atique Zaman, Mr. Pranav and Mr. Shubham Gupta won first place in the quiz competition.

EVENT-2-Poster Competition and Guest lectures on 12-04-2023 

The day was started with Poster Competition for Third year MBBS students on the topic – ‘WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION and HEALTH’. There was 35 groups which participated in the competition. Each group had 5 students who orally presented the same for 3 minutes which was followed by 2 minutes question and answer session by the Judge of poster competition. After the poster competition, the day followed with Lecture talk. The WHD-2023 was officially started by introductory speech by Professor and HoD of Community Medicine department Dr.Prasanna Kamath. First Speaker Dr.Muninarayana C, Professor, Department of Community Medicine spoke on the Birth of World Health Organization and the concept of International health. Dr. Mishba Hani, WHO Surveillance Medical Officer (SMO), Bangalore stressed about Theme of World Health Day 2023 ‘Health for all’. She spoke on determinants of health, social strategies to improve care for few stigmatized disease, the unaddressed barriers for Health for all. She completed her presentation with achievements of WHO in last 75 years and challenges which needs attention. The final session was by Dr. Chandan, District Family Welfare Officer, Kolar who spoke on Role of Government in Delivering Health for all. He spoke on 5A which is Awareness, Access, Availability,

Affordability and Accountability. After this session, winners of World health day 2023 Quiz competition held on 10 April 2023 were awarded followed by Prize distribution of Poster Competition winners held on 12 April 2023.Vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Pruthvi, I year Postgraduate, Department of Community Medicine.
