The Conference hosted a galaxy of speakers who have dedicated their lives to humanity. The Conference was inaugurated by Shri. Rajendra, Vice Chairman SDUAHER, Dr. D.V.L.N Prasad, I/C Vice Chancellor & Registrar SDUAHER, , Dr. S Chandrasekhar Shetty, Advisor, SDUAHER, Dr. Ahalya Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bengaluru, Dr. Alex Hankey, Prof. Emeritus, MIT, Pune, Dr. Vijay Kumar P.S I/c HoD & Associate Professor Dept. of Integrative Medicine, SDUAHER. I/c Vice Chancellor & Registrar Dr. D.V.L.N Prasad welcomed he gathering and introduced the Chief Guest & Key note Speaker Dr.Ahalya Sharma, Vice Chancellor Karnataka Sanskrit University.
Vice Chairman SDUAHER Dr. Rajendra addressed the audience and explained about Yoga and the importance of its practice. He also explained the importance of yoga day and its theme.Dr. Chandrashekhar Shetty Advisor SDUAHER addressed the gathering with the theme of International Day of Yoga & expressed that through Yoga one can better their ethics and morals which will lead to better quality of Life.
Dr. Ahalya Sharma Vice Chancellor of Karnataka Sanskrit University Bengaluru during her keynote explained the theme of Yoga, the importance of yoga, the present health scenario, the burden of NCDs on India, stress, and how stress impacts the endocrine system. She also gave an idea about the Pancha Kosha principle, the basis of yoga, and the role of yoga in stress balance. The dignitaries felicitated Dr.Ahalya Sharma.
The next session was by Dr. Suman Kollipara from Peace Tree Foundation Canada spoke about the mind, its definition, the ability of self-organization, properties of the mind, states of mind, how sookshma meditation helps to recharge our mind and body. He also explained about Yoga, Yamas, and Niyamas and their practice helps for maintaining self-discipline in our day-to-day life.
Dr. C D Dayanand Dean FAH & BS introdcued Dr. Alex Hankey Prof Emeritus MIT Pune. Dr. Alex Hankey Prof Emeritus MIT Pune in his scientific session explained Patanjali Yoga Sutras, different theories of yoga, the way and purpose of yoga practices & health benefits of Yoga. The first day of the Conference ended with the dignitaries felicitating Dr. Alex Hankey and with the National Anthem.
