Read MoreThe 2nd day of the conference started with scientific sessions. Dr. Vijay Kumar P.S, I/c HoD & Associate professor Dept. of Integrative Medicine, SDUAHER, in his talk, spoke about health and wellness. Current Indian scenario of health, how reducing one's risk factor leads to the prevention of many non-communicable diseases. He also explained about neurophysiological aspects of yoga and stated that yoga is a science of well-being. The dignitaries felicitated Dr. Vijay Kumar P.S with a token of appreciation.
Dr. Komal Shah, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhi Nagar described cardiovascular diseases their statistics and various yoga-based interventions for CVD. She joined the conference through online mode.
Dr. Prabhakar, Dean, Faculty of Medicine SDUAHER & Principal, SDUMC, in his scientific session, spoke about non-communicable diseases and the mechanism of benefits of Yoga in non-communicable diseases. The dignitaries felicitated Dr. Prabhakar after his talk.
Dr. Veronique Nicolai, a Pediatrician from France handled her session with a focus on Dhyana and Meditation. She explained that Yoga has its effect on stress and it is different from physical exercise. She later guided the audience through a practice of heartfulness clinic which has an impact on chronic insomnia. She said that yoga is not only a physical practice, it is an exceptional science.She joined online from France for the session.
Dr. Ashwin Bilagi, Asst. professor, Dept. of Integrative Medicine, SDUAHER, in his session spoke about health, causes of NCDs, stress, and its responses in the body and how these responses can lead to psychosomatic disorders. He also explained how yoga helps in controlling the mind. The dignitaries felicitated Dr. Ashwin after his talk.
Following the scientific sessions , the dignitaries graced the occassion for the valedictory program. A prize distribution ceremony for the Poster drawing competiton was held and the prize was distributed to students of RLJCS & SUDCON. The names of prize winners of Advanced online Yoga Competition was announced. The Principal of RLJCS Mrs.Lakshmi Bhat expressed her pleasure that students on RLJCS were involved in all activities & Principal of SUDCON Dr.Vijayalakshmi expressed that they look forward to doing more such events. The students of RLJCS & SUDCON expressed pleasure in being associated with all events related to IDY 2023.
SAMANVAYA 2023 ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Dayanand Dean FAH&BS. Dr.Vijayakumar.P.S I/c HoD Integrative Medicine expressed gratitude through presenting a token of appreciation to the dignitaries. The day ended with the National Anthem.
