Free General Health Check-up and Cancer Screening Camp

A free General Health Check-up and Cancer Screening Camp was held on 22nd June 2023 at PHC, Tayaluru. The major goals of the camp were screening for diseases, early detection of diseases and taking the required steps to treat the health issues.

The day started with inauguration by Dr.Pradeep T.S, Dr.Chaithra T, Dr.Raga Sravya, Dr.Rakesh, Dr.Sandeep Mr.Ganesh Krishnamurthy, Mr.Ragunath S, Mr.Ramamurthy.

The camp was conducted with collaboration under Karnataka Cancer Society, Malleshwaram, Banglore. The purpose of the event was to create awareness on cancer, screening for early detection, treatment and rehabilitation of cancer survivors.

Dr.Rakesh Medical Officer PHC, Tayaluru gave talk regarding Free General Health Check-up. He explained how Free General Health Check-up camp is helpful to people.

Dr.Sandeep Medical Officer, PHC, Kannasandra addressed the significance of annual Screening. He thanked the dept. of Community Medicine, SDUMC for conducting camp at Tayaluru

Mr. Ganesh Krishnamurthy, General Counsel, Karnataka Cancer Society. He mainly stressed on cervical screening by the Pap smear. He also quoted “Shreegra patte Cancer Napatte”

Dr.Raga Sravya Medical Officer, UHTC, Kolar shared her insight regarding cancer. She also said smoking and alcohol play a significant role in throat and vocal cord cancers.

Dr.Pradeep T.S. Associate Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, SDUMC, explained the facilities available at R.L.Jalappa hospital for cancer patients.
