World Environment Day 2023 was observed by Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), at Devarayasamudra on 5th June. This year, the World Environment day theme was “Solution to Plastic Pollution” under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution, “Ecosystem Restoration”. With this theme, the main focus is on finding solutions to plastic pollution.
Dr.Chaithra T, Medical Officer at RHTC, Devarayasamudra, planted a sapling on World Environment Day. She spoke regarding the theme for World Environment Day 2023 and on its focus on finding solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution, “Ecosystem Restoration”
The postgraduates and interns at RHTC also planted a sapling. Dr.Aiswarya Lilly Ray, postgraduate, dept. Of Community Medicine, SDUMC, spoke regarding the significance of planting a single tree.
Mrs. Soujanya, Manager, Bank of Baroda at RHTC also participated in this event. She briefed regarding effects of global warming. She shared the measures to be taken to protect our environment.
Dr.Varshini, Medical Officer, PHC, Devarayasamudra advised the gathering to reduce using plastics and encouraged them to use environmentally friendly materials.
Plants were gifted to Mrs. Soujanya and PHC staff as a part of World Environment Day celebration.
