COVID-19 exhibits a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, varying from asymptomatic cases to severe pneumonia with fatal outcomes. In addition to established risk factors such as advanced age, male gender and chronic comorbidities, emerging evidence suggests that host genetics play a key role in determining an individual's susceptibility to severe manifestations of COVID-19. This national webinar aims to provide an overview of our current understanding of host genetic factors that contribute to the predisposition of severe COVID-19 and their potential clinical implications.
