About the session:
Every year on the 3rd of December, we observe the International Day for Persons with Disabilities. This year, the Department of Physiotherapy marked the occasion with the theme Sustainable Development Goals. To commemorate the day, we hosted a complimentary physiotherapy camp for the residents of Devarayasamudra, Mulbagal.

Event details:The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Prabhakar K, Dean, FOM, Dr. Krishnappa M S, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Prasanna Kamath, Prof & HOD, Community Medicine, Mr. Soundaraj, Social worker, Mulbagal Taluk. 110 Patients benefitted from the Camp. The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring Dr. Prabhakar K, Dean of FOM, Dr. Krishnappa M S, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Prasanna Kamath, Professor & Head of Community Medicine, and Mr. Soundaraj, a social worker from Mulbagal Taluk. The lighting of the lamp and an invocation song by PG students set the tone. A press meet followed, where the camp's benefits were highlighted by the dean, medical superintendent, Dr. Senthil, and Mr. Soundar, shared with the media.
During the event, Dean Dr. Prabhakar K and Dr. Prasanna Kamath elaborated on the importance of creating awareness about physiotherapy and promoting harmless treatment practices. They emphasized the need to refrain from self-prescribing medications and took the opportunity to raise awareness about cervical cancers. Their insightful explanations aimed to educate the attendees on the significance of responsible healthcare choices and preventive measures.
Throughout the day, patients received treatment, and a complimentary lunch was provided. The camp successfully benefited 110 patients.
