SPANDAN 2024: A Celebration of Sports and Athleticism

Introduction: SPANDAN 2024 marked the annual sports and athletic events organized by the Faculty of Allied Health and Basic Sciences (FAHBS), SDUAHER, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and competition. Spanning from January 30th to February 2nd, this four-day extravaganza showcased the athletic prowess and sportsmanship of the students.

Inauguration: The grand inauguration of SPANDAN 2024 was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri. Rajendra, Vice Chairman of SDUET, Dr. Dayanada, Dean of FAHBS, Dr. Ramesh, Professor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Satish, Convener of the Sports Committee, and Dr. Shivakumara, HOD of the Clinical Nutrition Department. Their presence set the stage for an electrifying event filled with excitement and sportsmanship.

Events and Participation: SPANDAN 2024 offered a diverse range of athletic and sports events tailored to engage students effectively. Participants showcased their talents in various disciplines, including:

1. Athletics: Students competed in thrilling track events such as the 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, relay races, 3000 meters, and 5000 meters, demonstrating their speed, endurance, and determination.

2. Team Sports: The competitive spirit soared high with engaging team sports activities like futsal, volleyball, throwball, cricket, and tug of war. These team-based competitions fostered collaboration, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the participants.

3. Indoor Games: In addition to traditional sports, students indulged in indoor games like carrom and chess, showcasing their strategic thinking and tactical prowess in a more relaxed setting.

Recognition and Awards: To honor the outstanding achievements of participants, SPANDAN 2024 awarded medals, trophies, and certificates to deserving individuals and teams. This acknowledgment served as a testament to their hard work, dedication, and excellence in their respective fields. 

Support and Facilities: To ensure the well-being of participants, SPANDAN 2024 provided refreshments and adequate medical facilities on-site. Conclusion: SPANDAN 2024 encapsulated the essence of sportsmanship, unity, and athleticism, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds to celebrate their passion for sports and fitness.
