UCHPE
The Medical Education Unit (MEU) was established in 1997 and was upgraded as University Department of Medical Education from in 2014. The department formulates calendar of events of its own for each year reflecting the activities spread throughout the year to train the medical teachers and conduct orientation courses for students. The department is monitored and supervised by two committees: Core committee which meets once in four months and Monitoring and advisory committee which meets twice a year.
UDOME has the vision to develop into a hub of educational research to generate evidence by scholarly activities. With Ph.D programs being offered to further advance in health profession educations, the centre aims at being the facility center for all training activities that will empower faculty in reaching greater heights.
Objectives
- To sensitize faculty towards competency based medical education and AETCOM
- To train the faculty in designing curriculum
- To train faculty in teaching, learning and assessment methodologies
- To orient post-graduate students towards teaching methodology and research
- To orient interns towards communication skills and professional ethics
