About Us

Welcome to R L Jalappa college of Physiotherapy. The department was established on 1996.as clinical service facilities and later progressed to offer Bachelor of physiotherapy program under faculty of allied health and basic sciences, Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research since 2016. The objective of the department is to deliver physiotherapy academic program for aspiring students and health care services to the patient community. The department presently offering Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master in Physiotherapy and Ph D in physiotherapy. BPT program started in the year 2016 and has grown steadily to what it is today. Around 40 students are admitted to the B.P.T course every year. The program prepares the students for services across the continuum of care from acute medicine to chronic care; and from primary to tertiary care within health, education, and social services settings.

The department has gradually and steadily grown to cater basic to advanced physiotherapy services to the kolar and surrounding districts. Further the academic programs are designed to offer focused, outcome based education meeting global needs. The primary focus of physiotherapists is in the area of assessment, treatment, and prevention of physical dysfunction, and in the promotion of health for people of all ages. We are one of the few teaching departments/colleges in the state to provide a choice-based credit system with tailor-made courses for students, with early clinical exposure trained holistically and multi-dimensionally as competent professionals with human values. The experienced faculty members of the department are committed to teaching, clinical practice, and research. Apart from core curriculum & clinical training, conferences, hand-on workshops, outreach programs through Physiotherapy camps in the rural areas serving the poor and weaker sections of the society, and awareness programs for society inculcates social responsibility through community centric training.The department is keen in motivating the students towards innovation and excellence inculcated progressively in Physiotherapy education.
