Breast cancer is the most common female cancer and cervical cancer is the second most common cancer, and are the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, including India. Advanced stages at diagnosis, rising incidence and mortality rates, make it essential to understand cancer literacy. Depending on the type and stage of cancer, treatments to eradicate the tumor or slow its growth may include some combination of surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy or immunotherapy. Joining the efforts from different professionals is thought to improve patient management. The multidisciplinary approach emerged in oncology in the mid-1980s, when the addition of chemotherapy to radiotherapy and/or surgery was proven to improve survival. A comprehensive assessment and monitoring of cancer patients by specialized Multidisciplinary teams will result in better treatment adherence and tolerance, reduction in long-term side effects, improved quality of life and ultimately improved treatment outcome and survival. This CME aims to concentrate on Multidisciplinary approach in diagnosing and treating Breast and Cervical cancers. We look forward for your participation in this CME for acquiring new space and insight.
