Dementia has physical, psychological, social and economic impacts, not only for people living with dementia, but also for their carers, families and society at large. There is often a lack of awareness and understanding of dementia, resulting in stigmatization and barriers to diagnosis and care.

Raising awareness:Organizations like the Dementia Indian Alliance and local dementia support groups will host events and activities to raise awareness about dementia and it's preventive strategies in adults.

Providing information:The week will offer opportunities for individuals to learn about dementia symptoms, diagnosis, and available support services. 
Promoting early diagnosis:Efforts will be made to encourage individuals to seek medical advice if they are concerned about their memory or cognitive function.
