The Bhagavata Purana (Shrimad Bhagavatam)
is one of the most influential texts of Indian
civilization — a work of philosophy,
psychology, ethics and narrative art composed
around the frame of a dying king who has
seven days to live and chooses to spend them
in inquiry. Few classical texts speak so directly
to the daily realities of medical practice:
mortality, grief, resilience, the mind under
stress, compassion, and the meaning of service.
