and a champion of the co-operative movement. His dynamic
leadership gave rise to the Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust, which
today stands as a beacon of knowledge and service. Under his
stewardship, the Trust has grown to encompass eight institutions,
with over 500 dedicated faculty members and more than 4,500

students enrolled across disciplines — from kindergarten to post-
doctoral programs in traditional, technical, and medical fields.

A man of deep conviction and social commitment, Sri R. L. Jalappa
dedicated his life to the empowerment of rural communities

through education, agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, and co-
operative initiatives.

His legacy as the Chairman of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in
Kolar reflects his unwavering commitment to accessible and
quality healthcare education.
