In India, Teachers' Day is celebrated on September 5th every year to honour the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a highly respected philosopher, scholar, teacher, and the second President of India. Dr. Radhakrishnan was a legendary figure in Indian education and made significant contributions to the field of education as well as to Indian society.
