WORLD TB DAY OBSERVATION - 2024

World TB Day is observed on March 24th each year.

The theme for this year World TB day 2024 is “Yes, we can end TB”.

e Department of Community Medicine observed the TB day on 25-03-2024 and 26-03-24 by
conducting health education session to PUC Degree students of Adarsha college, B.COM and B.SC
students of Amara Jyoti College, Mulbagal by Dr. Pradeep T S Associate Professor, Department of
Community Medicine RHTC Incharge along with Dr. Aishwarya & Dr.Kowshick R (Post
Graduats) Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College.

Health education session was started at 12.10 pm by Dr. Kowshick R. He gave the talk
regarding the risk factors and signs and symptoms of TB for early diagnosis of TB disease. He
created awareness by showing several images of clinical symptoms of TB in an understandable
manner and explained of early detection of cases and prevention complications.

The session followed by Dr.Aishwarya who spoke about the preventive measures and
treatment of TB. She explained preventive measures by illustrating posters and charts in an easy
manner to bring awareness in students and she also explained the treatment which is free of cost and
giving their insights about TB schemes initiated by the Government of India.

The session was concluded and overall burden of TB disease was given by Dr. Pradeep T S
