Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) workshop
Department of Microbiology
Workshop | Year - 2024 2025 | 17 Apr, 2025
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as one of the principal public health problems of the 21st century
that threatens the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections caused by
bacteria, parasites, viruses and fungi no longer susceptible to the common medicines used to treat them.
Students play a crucial role in addressing this AMR crisis. As future healthcare professionals, they need to
understand the impact of AMR and take action to prevent its spread. Hence, this event is organized to educate
students, to promote responsible antibiotic use and hygienic practices and inspire future generations to take an
active role in combating AMR.
