CATARACT AWARENESS MONTH Cataract is one of the leading causes of vision loss, especially in people aged 60 and above. It causes the lens of the eye to become cloudy, leading to blurred or dim vision. Risk factors include aging, diabetes, smoking, eye injury, and prolonged sun exposure. In younger individuals, cataracts can result from genetic disorders or trauma. Fortunately, cataracts are treatable through safe and effective surgery. Early detection and timely treatment can restore clear vision and improve quality of life
