September is observed as World Alzheimer’s month. The Department of Physiology, SDUMC is organizing a webinar on World Alzheimer’s day on 19th September 2025. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the widespread cause of dementia, and is an age-related, progressive and irreversible neurodegenerative disease that results in massive neuronal death and deterioration of cognitive functions. The Alzheimer’s day campaign aims to underscore the pivotal role of identifying risk factors and adopting proactive risk reduction measures to delay, and potentially even prevent, the onset of dementia. Thus this webinar aims to provide an insight on the identifying risk factors and to adopt the measures to prevent dementia.
