Event Report

Department of Pediatrics, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and RL Jalappa hospital conducted Pediatric Endocrinology CME on “Hormones and Health”.
Hormones play a crucial role in a child’s growth and development. An imbalance can have a significant impact on health. Pediatric endocrine problems represent only the tip of the ice berg. Their burden is hidden and unidentified in the society. In this CME, common endocrine disorders in children and adolescents were discussed by a team of specialists in Pediatric Endocrinology.
The experts gave insights about the following topics in detail
a.       Ambulatory management of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus by Dr Pavithra Nagaraj
b.      Approach to Short Stature by Dr Poornima R N
c.       Pubertal Disorders in Adolescents by Dr Vijaya Sarathi
d.      Childhood Obesity: The emerging epidemic by Dr Tejasvi Sheshadri
