Remembering our teacher Late Col Dr.Ananta Bhattacharyya

Department of Community Medicine had organized a voluntary Blood donation drive to
remember one of the finest teachers in the Community Medicine and greatest administer Late
Col Dr.Ananta Bhattacharyya. It has been three years since he passed away and boarded his
heavenly journey. He was extremely liked by all his students for his impeccable teaching skills.
He was appreciated all over the University for his Administrative Outlook and forethoughts.
To commemorate his third death anniversary, it was decided to honor this noble soul two events
were held.
Event 1 was Blood Donation drive at Department of Community Medicine, SDUMC,
SDUAHER, Kolar
Event 2 was Food Distribution at Local Orphanage for Disabled children, Kantha raj Urs Road,
Mulbagal

Event 1: Voluntary Blood Donation Drive

Blood donation drive was arranged on 06-11-2024 at Department of Community Medicine, Sri
Devaraj Urs Medical College , Kolar from 9 AM morning to 4 PM evening. The programme
was started with some good memories held with sir. All flowered his photo and paid they respect
after which the Blood donation drive was kick started. The event was started with paying the
floral tribute to this noble man. Following this his beloved students came in a great number and
100 units of blood were collected. All students said it was a befitting way to pay homage to the
wonderful soul. This was followed by distribution of biscuits to all the donors.

Event 2 : Food Donation

Food was distributed among mentally and physically disabled children (Divyagjans ) during the
same day. 70 students of the NGO SWARC ,Kantharaj urs road, Mulbagal thanked for a day
meal.
