The day was observed by Rural Health Training Center (RHTC), Devarayasamudra at government ITI College, Devarayasamudra. The day started with poster presentation by students from Clinical nutrition and dietetics (CND-AHBS) based on the theme “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement” on modes of transmission, Signs and symptoms, Complications of Untreated Malaria. Special emphasis was given to Myths of Malaria. Dr. Raga Sravya, Medical Officer of RHTC, devarayasamudra spoke regarding transmission, distribution of malaria, life cycle along with the signs and symptoms and of malaria, along with complications and relapse of disease, mosquito breeding places, how to keep house and surroundings clean, how to prevent mosquito bite with the help of mosquito nets for beds, windows and jet coils, indoor residual spraying (IRS), use of thick clothing and long sleeves. Dr. Pradeep T.S, Incharge of RHTC, Devarayasamudra spoke regarding seeking professional help in case of danger symptoms, benefits of early diagnosis and treatment and importance of completing full course of treatment and how each individual can help in achieving zero cases by taking care of self and surrounding environment. Principal of ITI College, Devarayasamudra Mr. Srinivas Murthy spoke regarding how the how Devarayasamudra 10 years ago suffered from malaria endemicity. He concluded by saying we need to educate everyone at household to prevent Mosquito borne diseases.
