WORLD HEALTH DAY OBSERVATION - 2024

World Health Day observed on April 7th each year.

On April 8th, 2024, the Department of Community Medicine marked World Health Day with an enlightening health education session for PUC Degree students at AECS Ramapriya Degree College, Mulbagal. Led by Dr. Pradeep T S, Associate Professor and RHTC Incharge, the session featured esteemed medical professionals including Dr. Vivek Jayan, Dr. Sindhu Shankar, Dr. Varsha Vijayarajan, Dr. Vaibhav, and Dr. Gowtami.

Commencing at 11:45 AM, Dr. Vivek Jayan initiated the session with a discussion on alcohol and tobacco abuse, utilizing impactful visuals to raise awareness. Dr. Vaibhav addressed internet addiction, followed by Dr. Varsha's insights on diabetes prevention and treatment, including
government initiatives. Dr. Sindhu Shankar enlightened the audience on hypertension symptoms and preventive measures, while Dr. Gowtami emphasized stress management and yoga for overall well-being.

Dr. Pradeep T S concluded by underscoring the significance of this year's theme, "My Health My Rights," and the prevailing health challenges. The session provided invaluable knowledge and practical strategies to promote health and empower individuals to exercise their health rights
effectively.
