OBSERVATION OF WORLD PSORIASIS DAY 28^th OCTOBER 2024

World Psoriasis Day 2023 was observed on the 28^TH October 2024 in Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar, with the theme “PSORIATIC DISEASE AND THE FAMILY".

The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr.Suresh Kumar, Associate Professor , Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, who welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, students, patients and their attenders to the event.

Dr. Rajashekar T.S (Professor &HOD) addressed the gathering. Dr.Hanumanthayya K., Professor of Dermatology addressed the gathering and gave a speech on different modalities of treatment and the importance of stigma removal among psoriasis patients. This was followed by a speech by Dr.Krishnappa.J, Medical Superindent, RL Jalappa Hospital who emphasized on the role of counselling in psoriasis patients. Dr.Suresh Kumar K, Associate Professor of Dermatology emphasized about the importance of moral support from family members . Educational pamphlets were distributed by the dignitaries to the patients and their attenders to raise awareness regarding social stigma among families of psoriasis patients. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Vaishnavi B.V .
