World Immunization Week, observed in the last week of April, highlights the life-saving power of vaccines in protecting people of all ages from preventable diseases. Since 1974, vaccines have saved over 154 million lives, reducing infant deaths by 40% and helping more children survive beyond their first birthday. With newer vaccines now preventing diseases like malaria, HPV, dengue, and Ebola, the theme for 2025 — "Immunization for All is Humanly Possible" — emphasizes building on past successes to ensure every child is protected. As we reach the mid-point of the Immunization Agenda 2030, this year’s campaign calls for collective action to expand vaccine access, strengthen programs, and secure a healthier future for all.
