The Medical Education Unit, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar conducted an Orientation program for the Interns on 25^th July 2023 from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm in the Seminar Hall, Library Building, SDUAHER under the Guidance of Dr. T.N.Suresh, MEU Convener. Dr.Parimala S, Professor of Microbiology was the Organizing secretary.

The programme started at 8.30 am with registration of the interns. Dr.T.N.Suresh welcomed the audience and Dr.Krishnappa J congratulated the students for having completed the MBBS course. He spoke about the role of a medical graduate in clinical practice and the objectives for the orientation programme.

Dr.Arun. H.S, Professor and HOD in the department of Orthopaedics, discussed about the importance of documentation in medical practice.  Dr.Prakash Dave discussed about professionalism and integrity of a medical graduate in medical field. Dr.Ruth Sneha, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, elaborated on the importance of verbal communication in the health care system.

Dr.Rashmi, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology explained how rational a doctor should be while prescribing drugs. Dr. Abhinandan R, Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine, enlightened the participants on the importance of Medical documentation and legal implications.

Dr.S.Parimala, Professor of Microbiology discussed on the Guidelines to laboratory investigation in Central diagnostic laboratory. Dr.Bhuvana, Professor & HoD of Pharmacology discussed on Pharmacovigilance and briefly described the commonly encountered drug reactions.

 Finally Dr Prakash, Chief librarian briefed about the E-Resources available in the Library.

The programme concluded at 4: 30 pm with the vote of thanks by Dr T.N.Suresh .
