Free General Health Check-up Camp is an awareness program conducted on the 23rd of August at Retired Govt Employee Association building Mulbagal.

The major goals of the General Health Check-Up camp are early detection and screening of diseases, and taking the required steps to treat these issues.

The day started with a welcome address by Professor S Jayaram, Retired Govt teacher, which was followed by Inauguration of Free General Health Check-up Camp by Mulbagal Circle Inspecter Mr.Jagadeesh, Dr.Pradeep T S , Associate Professor, Dept of Community Medicine, SDUMC, Dr. Sindhu Shankar S, Senior Resident, Dept of Community Medicine SDUMC, Dr. Aishwarya Post Graduate, Dept of Community Medicine SDUMC.
Dr. Sindhu Shankar gave a health talk on modifiable and non modifiable risk factors of diabetes and hypertension, etiology of diabetes and hypertension, stages of hypertension, different types of diabetes mellitus, signs and symptoms of diabetes, laboratory investigations available for the same at Primary Health Care and Tertiary Health Care.She also spoke about the different treatment strategies available for both and complications due to uncontrolled Diabetes and Hypertension.

Dr.Pradeep addressed the significance of Annual Screening. He explained how general health check-ups help in early
detection of diseases, treatment and cure chances increase. He shared to monitor existing conditions closely to reduce the risk of complications & advised to improve health and longevity. He stated annual screening helps in early diagnosis of disease and increases longevity.
